Flights from Australia to Vietnam: Air Australia Applies for Operating Permission

AIR Australia is seeking permission to operate flights from Australia to Vietnam.

The Brisbane-based airline has asked the International Air Services Commission for permission to operate four flights from Australia to Vietnam per week from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, using Avalon Airport, near Geelong, in its application.

The carrier wants to start operating flights from Australia to Vietnam from March 2012 and said in its application that capacity would be fully utilised by February, 2013.

Air Australia, formerly Strategic Airlines, recently rebranded under new livery.

It has started flying twice-daily weekday return services between Brisbane and Melbourne, and will launch new services between Brisbane and Honolulu from December 15.

Air Australia, which also services Bali and Phuket, has also been granted rights to fly to China and the US mainland.
